3 people injured, including 1 critically, following multi-vehicle crash in Nanakuli

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Three people were rushed to the hospital Friday morning following a major crash in Nanakuli involving multiple vehicles.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a 31-year-old man is in critical condition and two others were seriously injured — both men in their 30s.
The crash was reported around 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Auyong Homestead Road.
Police said one of the vehicles is overturned.
Crews with the Honolulu Fire Department also responded and used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate a person trapped in one of the vehicles.
As officials respond to the incident, multiple lanes on Farrington Highway have been shut down in both directions. One westbound lane has been opened for contraflow. To help alleviate traffic, Paakea Access Road has also been opened.
Images out of West Oahu show a major back up in traffic with commute times into town estimated to take about 70 minutes.
